Kottayam: BJP State General Secretary, K. Surendran, has lashed out against the CPI(M)’s sudden change of stand in Sabarimala issue. He said that the communist party changed its pro-woman entry stance in view of the coming Assembly by-election in Pala constituency.
Surendran demanded that if the communist party is with the devotees then it must withdraw the affidavit filed at the Supreme Court and seek apology from the people. He added that as the CPI(M) has changed its stand on Sabarimala then the criminal cases against all the devotees must be squashed.
He also asked both the Congress led United Democratic Front and CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front to field a single candidate.
The BJP leader claimed that the NCP which is with the LDF and is eyeing the constituency will be made the scapegoat by the CPI(M).
After unleashing untold misery and torture against Ayyappa devotees, who protested against women entry by the communist government, the CPI(M) State Committee has now changed its stand on the Sabarimala issue. Their utter defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections have made the communist leadership jittery.
After taking an anti-Hindu stand, the communist leadership has realized their mistake when they were routed out completely in the elections.
The coming by-election at Pala will be a acid test for the communist party and they need to win it by any means in order to stay relevant in the state politics.
