Washington DC: In a surprise move the President of the United States, Donald Trump, fired his National Security Advisor, John Bolton, saying that he strongly disagreed with many of Bolton’s suggestions.
Donald Trump tweeted, “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning.”
He added, “I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.”
However, John Bolton tweeted that he had offered his resignation last night implying that he was not fired as Trump had tweeted.
Bolton’s exit was very abrupt that he even had meeting with top officials just before the tweet from the President came.
Trump and Bolton were at loggerheads over Trump’s decision to host Taliban leaders at Camp David. Trump was also irked because some aides of Bolton tried to make it sound as if Vice President Mike Pence opposed Taliban meeting at Camp David.
Bolton was one of the most hawkish diplomats of the Trump administration and advocated a more aggressive foreign policy. He was the main driving force for the strong arm tactics of United States against Iran, Venezuela and other regions.
