Cairo: The Islamic State’s news agency Amaq said that its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead. The terror group also announced Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Quraishi as its new leader.

Experts say that the new leader is relatively unknown and the name is not familiar with experts studying about IS. Some believe that it could be ploy by the organization to conceal the true identity of the new leader.

The US State Department believes that IS top leader Hajj Abdullah is the new successor and he might have changed his name.

The IS also announced that its spokesperson Abu al-Hassan al-Muhajir is also dead.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi led the organization from obscurity to become one of the most bloodiest and cruel Islamic terror of all times. They conquered large areas of Iraq and Syria between 2014 and 2017 and declared a Caliphate.

The Islamic State unleashed extreme cruelty and torture against minorities and its enemies. Men, Women, and children were brutally killed in thousands. Minorities suffered the worst under the Islamic State.

The US, which had been hunting the elusive Baghdadi for years, finally caught up with him inside Syria at Idlib province. The Special Forces cornered Baghdadi in a tunnel into which he had run carrying with him three small children. The once powerful leader then denoted himself and the children with bombs tied to his vest.

Donald Trump had said that Baghdadi died a coward and cried like a dog during his last moments.
