Islamabad: Former Pakistani President, Pervez Musharrf, has revealed that Pakistan’s role in training Kashmiri terrorists to fight against India. Besides, he said that notorious terrorists like Bin Laden were heroes in Pakistan.

Pervez Musharraf made this comment in an interview, that was shared on Twitter by Pakistani politician, Farhatullah Babar, yesterday.

The former President said, “…In 1979, we had introduced religious militancy in Afghanistan to benefit Pakistan and to push Soviet out of the country. We brought Mujahideen from all over the world, we trained them, supplied weapons. They were our heroes. Haqqani was our hero. Osama bin Laden was our hero. Then the environment was different but now it is different. Heroes have turned to villains.”

Pervez Musharraf revealed that Kashmiris who reached Pakistan for training were given a hero’s welcome. They were trained and supported and considered them as Mujahideen. The former military General of Pakistan also added that organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba rose during that period.

The former President’s revelation is an open clarification that Pakistan is the epicentre of terrorism in not only India but also across the world. Terrorists trained in that country have spawned yet many other terror networks that have become a security threat to the whole world.
