BJP demands apology from Congress for slanderous campaign against the purchase of Rafale deal

New Delhi: The BJP welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the review pleas which sought investigation into the Rafale deal on the purchase of 36 fighter jets from France.

While welcoming the Supreme Court’s decision, Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh reprimanded the Congress for politicizing national security. He also demanded that the party apologize for misleading the people.

In a series of tweets, the Defence Minister said, ” I wholeheartedly welcome the Supreme Court’s categorical dismissal of the review petitions in the Rafale case and with this pronouncement the NDA Government stands vindicated. The SC verdict is also a judgement on our Government’s transparency in decision making.”

He added, ” The allegation of corruption in Rafale deal was nothing but an attempt to malign the clean & honest image of PM Modi & his Govt. The people of India will not forgive the Congress for their slanderous campaign and calumny. The Congress should apologise for misleading the people.”

With the final verdict of the Supreme Court, the lies and fake narratives peddled by the opposition comes to its logical end. The opposition had tried to use the Rafale deal to begin a smear campaign against the Prime Minister to tarnish his image before the Lok Sabha elections.

However, the electorate saw through the opposition’s lies and voted for BJP bringing back to power the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
