New Delhi: After the abrogation of Article 370, it was necessary to cease internet services in Jammu and Kashmir, for the security of the nation. Now after 100 days, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said today in Rajya Sabha that the curbs will be lifted in the valley whenever the local authority deems it fit.

“As far as internet services are concerned, the decision can be taken by the Jammu and Kashmir authorities. There are activities by Pakistan too in Kashmir region, so keeping security in mind, whenever the local authority deems it fit, a decision will be taken,” said Shah while responding to Congress MP Anand Sharma in Rajya Sabha.

“This is the question of the country’s security, the question of the fight against terrorism, the question of peoples security. Whenever the local administration will deem it fit we will rethink on it,” he added.

“Availability of petrol, diesel, kerosene, LPG and rice is adequate. 22 lakh metric ton apples are expected to be produced. All landlines are open,” he added.

“Availability of medicines is adequate. Mobile medicine vans have also started. The administration has taken care of health services,” he added.
