Kochi: The Bhumata Brigade chief, Trupti Desai, left for Pune, last night, after the Kerala police made it clear that they cannot arrange protection for her and her team to enter Sabarimala temple. Before leaving she said that she would file a contempt of court case against the police for not giving her the required protection.
Trupti Desai said that there was no stay against the Supreme court verdict allowing women entry into Sabarimala. She had gone to the Commissioner’s office to seek protection for her and her team to enter the holy shrine. However, the police informed her that women entry is under court’s consideration and refused to provide security for them to proceed to Sabarimala.
The Bhumata Brigade chief also revealed that she had informed the Chief Minister earlier of her intention to reach Sabarimala. She claimed that she had also asked him to arrange security for her and her team.
