Modi tweeted, ” On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, I bow down to the Indian soldiers for their courage, valour and heroism. Our soldiers who created the history on this day of 1971, will always remain imprinted in golden words.”

— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) December 16, 2019

December 16 is commemorated as Vijay Diwas for Indian military’s victory over Pakistan in Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 for the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan.
