New Delhi: Violent clashes have been reported from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) between left wing students and ABVP activists.
ABVP has accused the left activists of attacking and vandalizing the Periyar hostel at the campus.
ABVP’s JNU Unit President, Durgesh said, ” “Around four to five hundred members of the left wing gathered around the Periyar hostel, vandalised the hostel and forcibly entered the hostel to thrash the ABVP activists inside.”
The presidential candidate of ABVP was injured in the attack and has sustained fracture on his hand.
Meanwhile the JNU Student Union President Aishi Ghosh said that he was attacked by masked men. He and General Secretary, Satish Chandra Yadav, were wounded in the brawl.
