Reports say that Raj Thackeray might support CAA and NRC after meeting with Fadnavis

Mumbai: A national media reports that the chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Raj Thackeray, is likely to support the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) after meeting with BJP leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis at an unidentified location.

Reports say that Raj Thackeray will support the CAA and the NRC and might join hands with the BJP. It said that the MNS chief might make an ideological shift on 23 January, which is the birth anniversary of Bal Thackeray.

MNS, which is headed by Raj Thackeray, was formed in 2006 after he broke away from Shiv Sena when Bal Thackeray appointed his son Uddhav to head the Shiv Sena, overlooking Raj Thackeray.

MNS, however, could not make much headway in Maharashtra politics and has been sidelined in the state. The party has only on Assembly seat. The support of BJP might herald a change in fortune for the Maratha party.
