Kolkata: The communist party is firm in its decision to stifle any sort discussion or debates relating to Citizenship Amendment Act. The fascist techniques of the SFI was in full view when BJP MP Swapan Dasgupta was not allowed to speak at a seminar in Visva Bharati University in West Bengal. He was also locked up for four hours.

The program ‘The CAA-2019: Understanding and Interpretation’, which was part of the Visva Bharati Lecture Series, was stalled by the anti-CAA protesters. The lecture was to start at 3.30 pm and was to be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University. However, as soon as the BJP leader arrived,  protesters confronted him and also sealed the gates of the building to prevent anyone from entering or leaving.

Anti-CAA protesters also threw stones at the MP.

Swapan Dasgupta tweeted, ” How does it feel to have a mob attack a peaceful meeting on CAA and intimidation students? This is what is happening to a meeting I am addressing at Vishwa Bharati now. Locked into room now with mob outside (sic).”

He also said, “There are nearly 70 people locked inside a room in Vishwa Bharati, Santiniketan, for the crime of attending an official, university-convened lecture by me on CAA. This includes the VC. There is a howling mob outside itching for confrontation.”
