New Delhi: Amid the Raisina Dialogue 2020, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
Lavrov also met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Jaishankar tweeted, “Pleasure as always to meet FM Sergey Lavrov of Russia. Wide-ranging conversation on recent developments. Reflected the comfort of our long-standing friendship.”

Lavrov advocated for a permanent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) seats for countries including India and Brazil, underlining that developing countries should be given “adequate representation”. He said during his address at the Raisina Dialogue.
“Russia and India signed a declaration of strategic partnership 20 years ago. A few years back, our Indian friends proposed to call our relations with all countries of the region and we hope our Indian friends will be promoting the same ideology,” he said.
The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference committed to addressing the most challenging issues facing the global community. Every year, global leaders in policy, business, media and civil society are hosted in New Delhi to discuss cooperation on a wide range of pertinent international policy matters, says its official statement.
