Sannidhanam: Tens of thousands of devotees witnessed the transcendental moment of Makarajyothji, the much awaited moment when the Makarajyothi light at the Ponnambalamedu hill this evening. Pilgrims thronged the hill shrine temple to be a part of the ‘jyothi darshan’.
The sacred jewels procession began on 13th of this month from Panthalam and reached at Sannidhanam at 6.30 pm today. Head priest A K Sudheer Namboothiri received the holy ornaments. The hill top shrine and premises were echoed with ‘Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa’ chanting for hours. Worship with lamps took place Lord Ayyappa adorning the jewels.
Makarajyothi, the star Sirius is being worshipped on Makara vilakku day. Devotees are returning with peace and serenity. The hope to witness another Makarajyothi also begins today in the hearts of the devotees.
