New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has elected its new Chief Jagat Prakash Nadda, who has succeeded Union Home Minister Amit Shah and was also serving as the party chief till now. Nadda emerged as the only leader in the fray following the nomination process in which his candidature was endorsed by top party leaders.

Senior BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh, who is the in-charge of the organisational election process, made the announcement at the party headquarters here.

Senior leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari gathered this morning at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Union Ministers, Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, including Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Goa CM Pramod Sawant, leaders, state chiefs and general secretaries are also present at the party office.

Nadda has been elected unopposed by the BJP.

J P Nadda is also a 3-time MLA (1993-98, 1998-2003 and 2007-2012) in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. PM Modi earlier had lauded Nadda’s genial and friendly nature which has gained him popularity among all BJP leaders.
