Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Governor, Arif Mohammad Khan, has given a befitting reply to the CPI(M) General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury’s statement about abolishing the office of Governor.
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said that first let the people of India give the CPI(M) an opportunity to rule India, then they can think about abolishing the post of Governor.
The Governor also said that he is the Constitutional head of the state and Yechury cannot find any fault in what the Governor has said. He added that Yechury is trying to abolish the post itself because whatever he said was true.
Arif Mohammad Khan also said that there is no problem between him and the Kerala government. He said that he had only pointed out those things that must be done according to the Constitution.
He said that according to the Constitution, if a state government wants to go to the Supreme Court it must get the approval of the Governor. He said that as long as there is a violation of the Constitutional norms, no amount of explanation will be satisfactory.
