Pathanamthitta: The hartal in protest of the suspicious death of the Ayyappa pilgrim Sivadas, is going on peacefully in Pathanamthitta district. The hartal is till 6 in the evening. Hartal, declared by BJP, is supported by both Hindu Aikya vedi and Sabarimala Karma samithy. Parumala pilgrims are excluded from the hartal.

Meanwhile, Sivadas’s family alleged that Police has role in the death. The place from where the dead body is found, had already been checked earlier.

Sivadas, a devotee of Lord Ayyappa, used to visit Sabarimala on the first day of every month. And he used to reach home on the third day. And this time too, Sivadas went on when police actions were progressing. And his whereabouts were unknown after he was on his last visit to Sabarimala.

Members of his family also alleged  Panthalam police did not accept their complaint first. Later, the family approached both Pampa and Nilakkal police stations but both in vain. Sivadas’s son told that Panthalam police registered the case only after getting direction from Adoor DYSP office.

Sivadas’s family,in their complaint mentioned the missing date differently in the fear that police may charge case against Sivadas on the basis of Sabarimala issue.
