Kozhikode: The killer lady, Jolly Thomas, who murdered six members of her own family with cyanide over a period of fourteen years, tried to commit suicide by biting off the veins of her wrist. She was found bleeding in her cell in the morning was taken to the hospital
However, the Jail Superintended said that her statement is not believable. She is admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College, where the police came to take her statement.
The police have searched her cell to find if she used anything to cut her wrist. However, the police have found anything suspicious. Reports say that Jolly tried to commit suicide earlier too and was given counselling by the Medical College doctors.
The horrific murders of Jolly came to light last year. She was accused of killing six members of her family including her husband, mother-in-law and also her father-in-law. She took 14 years to commit all the 6 murders. Her modus operandi was to mix cyanide poison with food and serve it to her unsuspecting victims.
Investigators say that Jolly Thomas committed these murders to acquire the property of her husband’s family. Her accomplices, Prajikumar and Mathew, who supplied cyanide were also arrested.
A CPI(M) local leader, K. Manoj, was also arrested for helping her forge documents to take over the property of her husband’s family.
