Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants on Monday in Shopian district, police said.
Security forces had launched cordon and search operation in Reban area of the south Kashmir district on Monday morning. The operation was carried out after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.
The militants fired at search party of the forces that turned into an encounter.
The encounter is still underway.
