Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, said that nineteen new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Kerala, today. Out of this, nine patients are from Kannu district, three from Kasaragod and another three from Malappuram. Two cases are reported from Thrissur and one each from Idukki and Wayanad.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Kerala has risen to 126. Twelve patients have been cured from the disease so far. However Wayanad district reported the first case of COVID-19 today.
Meanwhile, Palakkad district is on high alert after a resident of the district who returned from abroad tested positive for the virus. He violated the quarantine protocols given to him and visited many Mosques, and hospitals.
The District Collector has registered a case against the person for violation of quarantine rules. 170 persons are found to have come into contact with him including his seven relatives and doctors.
