India against coronavirus: Odisha to establish two hospitals with combined capacity of 1,000 beds

Bhubaneswar: As the country stands united to battle against coronavirus pandemic, Odisha government has decided to set up two hospitals specially for the treatment of the disease. The highlight of the decision is that both hospitals will have a combined capacity of 1000 beds.

The two hospitals would be functional in just two weeks and this would be the largest facilities in the country dedicated for the treatment of Covid-19 cases.

The Odisha government has set up a tripartite agreement with corporates and medical colleges.

“Following Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s direction to provide state-of-the-art facility to COVID-19 patients, Odisha has planned the biggest COVID-19 hospitals in the country,” said a statement from the CMO.

“Accordingly, Odisha government signed two tripartite agreements with SUM and KIMS Medical Colleges today at Lok Seva Bhawan to set up 1,000 bedded state level hospitals in Bhubaneswar for the treatment of COVID-19 patients,” the statement added.

According to reports, the hospitals will be set up in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.

Thus, Odisha will have the biggest COVID hospitals in the country.
