New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has blacklisted 960 foreigners for violating visa norms after they indulge in religious activities following the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi. The foreigners had arrived in India on tourist visa and had attended a religious conference in violation of the lockdown.
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, announced the decision to blacklist the foreigners in a statement on Twitter today.
The Tablighi Jamaat’s event at Nizamuddin in Delhi witnessed thousands of people gathering for it and which had accelerated the spread of COVID-19 in the country. Those who had attended the meeting carried the virus to their respective states.
