K Surendran slams Thomas Isaac for mismanagement of treasury

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran said that the stand taken by Finance Minister Thomas Isaac, who blamed the central government for covering up his own incompetence, is not an accessory in the public interest of the state. Kerala is in financial crisis because of the failure of financial management.

Profligacy and corruption in the state led to financial crisis, he said. Isaac expects Centre to provide financial assistance and we will keep spending unnecessarily.

Rs 1.45 lakh crore financial package has been allotted to the state for the benefit of the common people. It has benefitted to the people up to a certain extent too. The announcement of the Reserve Bank of India in two phases is a major boost to the economy. Centre’s direct assistance to the common man helped the market to regain commerce.

At present, the package of Rs 50,000 crore for small and medium sized enterprises and measures to ensure liquidity in the market is intended to overcome the Covid crisis, Surendran said.

Isaac has been targeting the Central Government only to divert people’s attention from corruption, including the Sprinklr deal. Thomas Isaac is now a comic character in the public domain of Kerala. For the development of Kerala, the Centre and state should go hand in hand.

Surendran also demanded that the Chief Minister to make Isaac understand the government’s policies.
