New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat has started fulfilling his commitment towards donating Rs 50,000 from his salary to PM-CARES Fund for the next 12 months.
The CDS in March had written to the authorities concerned that Rs 5000 be deducted every month from his salary and deposit in the PM-CARES Fund, defence sources told ANI.
In regard with the letter that CDS forwarded, Rs 50,000 was deducted from the salary of April and deposited in the PM-CARES Fund.
The CDS had also donated one-day salary for the PM CARES Fund along with all other defence services’ personnel who had donated in March son after the fund was started.
According to sources, this move by the CDS shall encourage other senior officers to make their contribution.
