Kannur: In the matter pertaining to MLA K M Shaji’s bribery case, the Vigilance seized records from Azhikode Higher Secondary School in a bid to investigate all the incomes and expenses.
Ten documents, including accounts book and minutes of management meetings of Azhikode School have been collected. These will be thoroughly examined and more statements of the people will be recorded.
The Vigilance seized the documents to have a check on expenses on a complaint received that MLA K M Shaji assumed bribe. The school manager, during the period when Shaji took bribe, is also likely to be accused.
The case pertains to MLA KM Shaji who took a bribe of Rs 25 lakh to grant permission for higher secondary course at Azhikode High School when P.K Abdu Rabb was the Education Minister. The complaint was registered on September 19,2017.
