Srinagar: During the press briefing by the security forces in Srinagar today, Vijay Kumar, Kashmir IG of Police congratulated the security forces, as for the first time in the history four chief of main terrorist outfits got eliminated in a span of four months.
“I congratulate the security forces, as it is for the 1st first time in history that 4 chiefs of main terrorist outfits-Lashkar-e-Taiba,Jaish-e-Mohammed,Hizbul Mujahideen&Ansar Ghazwat-ul Hind killed in 4 months.Elimination of leadership causes damage to outfit,” he said.
It has also been noticed that Jaish terrorists carry M4 rifles. An M4 rifle was recovered in yesterday’s shooting of Pakistani drone, IG said.
The three terrorists killed today in an encounter have been identified as Shakoor Farooq Langoo of Bharthana, Srinagar & Shahid Ahmad Bhat of Semthan Bijbehara. Identification of the third terrorist is yet to be ascertained.
“Since they were local terrorists, we asked some prominent people to appeal to the 3 terrorists to surrender but they didn’t budge&threw a hand grenade instead&were killed in the ensuing gun battle. Two of them have been identified,” Vijay Kumar added.
