New Delhi: In a recent development, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana is mulling to take tough stance on the import of Chinese products. Earlier, Maharashtra paused three agreements signed with Chinese companies worth Rs 5,000 crore due to the violent clash that took place last week in the Galwan valley near Eastern Ladakh.
According to reports, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar have come forward to boycott Chinese companies and products.
The Haryana government has halted two tenders for the installation of flue gas de-sulphurization (FGD) system at their thermal power plants at Hisar and Yamunanagar. More contracts with Chinese firms would be cancelled in the next few days.
Uttar Pradesh Power Minister Shrikant Sharma said that the state will not purchase any Chinese products for its energy sector. He added that the state government will see that even the vendors do not supply or use the goods that are made in China.
The union of the MSME sector in Noida, comprising 20,000 MSME sector units, has also decided to boycott Chinese products and equipment in the manufacturing process.
The relation between India and China has worsened and China will have to face its worst impact due to the violent clash on the border that claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers. China will be at a low ebb and pay a heavy economic price for the aggression it showed on the border.
