Kerala: Youth organisations stage protest demanding CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s resignation over gold smuggling case

Kochi: Massive protests have erupted throughout the state demanding Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s resignation and face the probe over gold smuggling case. Youth organisations including Yuva Morcha, Youth Congress and Youth League are staging protest against CM Vijayan. In many areas police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the demonstrators.

Youth League in Kozhikode staged protest at Collectorate that turned into violence. The police used tear gas and water cannons at the workers of the organisation for attempting to remove the barricades. The police also resorted to lathi charge at those who returned to protest again. In the clash, three people were injured and rushed to the hospital.

Yuva Morcha staged protest to one of the key accused Sandeep Nair’s Carbon Doctor workshop at Nedumangad. Police cordoned off the area near the establishment and stopped the Yuva Morcha workers.
The Youth Congress state committee led a march to Pinarayi Vijayan’s residence in Pinarayi. KPCC Working President K Sudhakaran MP and others led the march.

Yuva Morcha led a march to the Kottayam Collectorate. The workers crossed the barricades and protested inside the collectorate.
