Setback for the Government: Sabarimala review pleas will be taken on 22nd January; Case moving to an open court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has decided to reconsider the verdict that granted entry of woman between 10 to 50 age group in Sabarimala.

The petitions have been moved to an open court and all the petitions , including writ pleas will be considered on 22nd January 2019.

Review pleas were taken in the chamber of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.Court has also decided to serve notice to all the clients and to the Government.

A total of 49 pleas were submitted in the Supreme Court including that of Sabarimala Ayyappa Sevasamajam,Viswa Hindu Parishath,Nair Service Society,Panthalam Royal Family, People for Dharma, National woman organization of Ayyappa devotees and Chethana.

Today was the crucial day for lakhs of Ayyappa devotees as they all were anxiously waiting for the top court’s verdict.Supreme court’s move on the issue has made devotees relaxed as they badly want to maintain centuries old rituals and customs in Sabarimala.
