Thiruvananthapuram: The state recorded highest single day spike of 4,644 cases of coronavirus, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. At the same time 2,862 have recovered from the disease.
18 more deaths were reported today in the state, taking the death toll to 519.
Of the confirmed cases 36 arrived from abroad, while 229 from other states. 3,781 infected through local transmission. 37,488 people are undergoing treatment in the state for coronavirus infection.
Thiruvananthapuram continues to remain the worst affected district, reporting today with 824 cases followed by Malappuram 534, Kollam 436, Kozhikode 412, Thrissur and Ernakulam 351 each, Palakkad 349, Alappuzha 348, Kottayam 263, Kannur 222, Pathanamthitta 221, Kasaragod 191, Wayanad 95 and Idukki 47.
