Australian Batsman David Warner has been formally ruled out of the Boxing Day Test against India since the Opener has not recovered from the injury he suffered in the second ODIs but also because he can’t enter Australia’s biosecure hub alongside Sean Abbott.
Warner and Sean Abbott is recuperating separately away from the Australian squad after their arrival into Melbourne to avoid being trapped in New south wales due to the Covid 19 outbreak in Sydney’s northern beaches. Warner had suffered injury during the second ODI against India and was hoping to get back with the team ahead of the Boxing day test.
The biosecurity restrictions around Warner and Abbott will not let them enter the hub occupied by the squad until after the Boxing Day Test concludes.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be playing without Skipper Virat Kohli who is returning back to India for the birth of his child and Pacer Mohammed Shami who suffered injury in his right-arm during the first Test Match.
