Thiruvananthapuram: Dr Balasaraswati, former Pranth Karyavahika (Regional Administrator) of Rashtra Sevika Samithi has passed away. Dr Balasaraswati who served as the Head of the Department of Microbiology in the Kozhikkode Medical College, is the wife of CP Chandrasekhara Panicker (Maniyettan), former RSS Kerala Prantha Vyavastha Pramukh.
She has served as the District Administrator of the Rashtriya Sevika Samithi for a long time was a sage-like devotee who laid the foundation for a nationally conscious mother power by organizing mothers and sisters across Kerala.
Dr Balasaraswati was also a great personality who nurtured many women activists. Her house in Thiruvannoor has always been a stopover centre for senior Sangh Karyakarthas visiting Kozhikode.
Funeral will be held tomorrow at Ernakulam.
