New Delhi: The Election Commission of India to launch the E-Voters card programme on the National Voters Day. The programme will be launched in two phases.
The e-EPIC is a non0editable source of secure portable document format, a PDF version of the EPIC which can be downloaded on mobile or in a self-printable form on the computer. The card can dowloaded and stored in a mobile. The E_Voters card will have a secured QR code with the serial number, part number and date of poll along with image of the holder.
Talking about the launch, an ECI Official said that “the second phase will start from February 1. It will be open for general voters. All those who have given their mobile numbers, they can download their e-EPIC”.
The Election Commission is hoping to reduce the issues of delays, losing cards and not being able to get the voter ID Cards through the introduction of the e-EPIC.
