Washington [US]: Renowned Scottish DJ and Grammy nominated artist Sophie Xeon passed away on Saturday. She was 34 years old.
The deceased star’s office issued the statement regarding the sad new. “It is with profound sadness that I have to inform you that musician and producer SOPHIE passed away this morning around 4 am in Athens, where the artist had been living, following a sudden accident. At this time respect and privacy of the family is our priority. We would ask for respect to her fan base, and to treat the private nature of this news with sensitivity”, read the statement.
“Tragically our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident. True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us. The family thank everyone for their love and support and request privacy at this devastating tine”, said another statement from her family.
Sophie initially remained anonymous but later came out as a trans women, came to prominence with singles such as BIPP and LEMONADE. Her debut album ‘Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides earned a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
