The families of workers missing from the Rishiganga hydel project site accused the authorities of not carrying out the rescue operations properly after the Glacier burst in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District, which led to large scale devastation. Efforts are being made to rescue around 30-35 people trapped in a tunnel.

It has been four days since the tragedy occurred. The rescue workers are facing challenge of removing slush and heavy boulders in the tunnel, brought in by the flood.

The kin of around 40 missing workers started creating ruckus and had an argument with the authorities of the project for two hours.

The missing people include those working at NTPC’s 480-MW Tapovan-Vishnugad project and the 13.2-MW Rishiganga Hydel Project and villagers whose homes nearby were washed away.
