The Nanda Devi glacier burst that led to flood had destroyed 5 bridges (one big and four small) in Uttarakhand’s Tapovan. These birdges connected narrow roads in the hills with 13 villages.
Indian Army has built aerial river crossing to provide connectivity and is using trolley to connect villages cut off after glacier burst in Chamoli.
Arrangements were made to airdrop food packets to the villages along with ration distribution to all the villages that are cut off after the bridges got destroyed in the flood.
Gahar, Bhangyun, Raini Palli, Pang Lata, Suraithota, Tolma and Fagrasu are some of the villages that lost connectivity.
The ITBP and Indian Army are working together to ensure that the ration and food packets reach every village.
