Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to inaugurate ‘Hunar Haat’ in Delhi

The 26th ‘Hunar Haat’ of artisans and craftsmen from across the country will be formally inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on February 21, 2021.

The ‘Hunar haat’ with the theme of ‘Vocal for Local’ will be held in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi from February 21 to March 1.

Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will be the chief guest and Minister of shipping Mansukh L Mandaviya  and MP Meenakshi Lekhi will be the guest of honour at the event.

More than 600 artisans and craftsmen, including a large number of women artisans from 31 States and Union Territories will participate in ‘Hunar haat’.

‘Hunar Haat’ has given employment opportunities to over five lakh artisans in five years. Products made from clay, jute, wood and metal will be the main attraction at ‘Hunar Haat’. People can also purchase the products from Hunar Haat website.

Arrangements have been by the Ministry of Minority Affairs for this edition of ‘Hunar Haat’ to be organised on the online platform and on the Government e-Marketplace Portal (GeM).

According to Minister Naqvi, they aim to provide employment opportunities to 7,50,000 artisans and craftsmen through the Hunar Haat which will be organised on the completion of 75 years of country’s Independence.
