Bharatiya Janata Party office in Baranagar area of the North 24 Parganas district was vandalized. The BJP alleged that this was done by Trinamool Congress.
One of the miscreants was caught and beaten by the BJP supporters and was later taken to the Police station. A complaint was lodged by the BJP.
The Election Commission of India announced that West Bengal will see eight-phase election. First phase of polling on March 27, second phase of polling on April 1, third phase of polling on April 6, fourth phase of polling on April 10, fifth phase of polling on April 17, sixth phase polling on April 22, seventh phase is on April 26 and final phase polling will be on April 29.
