Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday (March 21) released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Sankalp Patra’ or manifesto for West Bengal assembly elections.
“BJP has decided to call the manifesto a ‘Sankalp Patra’ “because it is not just a manifesto but a resolution letter for West Bengal by the country’s largest party,” said Amit Shah.
“BJP’s manifesto emphasises on development, providing free education for women, development of infrastructure, women’s safety, providing better healthcare services and setting up industries in the state,” he added.
The manifesto also promises to build three new AIIMS in remote areas, one job per family, PM-Kisan arrear of Rs 18,000 for 75 lakh farmers and to provide every fisherman Rs 6,000 annually.
Elections to the 294-member state Assembly will be held in eight-phases starting from March 27 to April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
