Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to former prime minister Chandra Shekhar on his 94th birth anniversary.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote: ‘I pay homage to our respected former PM Shri Chandra Shekhar Ji on his Jayanti. He was respected across party lines for his simplicity and commitment to social empowerment.”
Chandra Shekhar Singh served as the eighth prime Minister between November 10, 1990 and June 21, 1991 after the fall of the V P Singh-led government at the Centre. He headed a minority government of a breakaway faction of the Janata Dal with outside support from the Indian National Congress.
