Tirupati: Tirumala Temple Chief Priest Narayana Deekshitulu succumbed to coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) here on Monday Night.
The 75-year-old Deekshitulu, who tested positive was admitted to SVIMS a few days back and passed away after losing a battle with Covid-19.
He was one among the Chief Priests who was reinstated recently by the TTD on the orders of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
The Chief Minister and TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy expressed shock and extended their condolences to the family members of the chief priest.
