Protesters march holding biriyani vessels in streets; pelted stones on police; clashes erupt in Congress march

Thiruvananthapuram: The state wide protests, held by opposition parties following the shocking revelations by Swapna Suresh, against Pinarayi vijayan has created tussle with protesters and police . The march ended up in clashes in Kasargode, Kannur, Kozhikkode, Thirssur, Kochi, Kottayam, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. Protesters were chanting slogans against CM Pinarayi Vijayan, demanding his resignation.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan, while inaugurating the march at Kochi, alleged  similar allegations on CM had already been raised by Swapna earlier too . Special investigation team has been assigned is to threaten the accused, added VD Satheesan. The Government and the party is scared and if allegations are baseless, why do they hesitate to go for legal steps, asked the opposition leader.

Protesters conducted march with holding biriyani vessels. In Thiruvananthapuram, demonstrators tried to enter secretariat. Police used water cannons to disperse the protesters. A police man and a protester got injured during the tussle. Police used water cannon in Kannur and Kozhikkode.
Demonstrators hurled biriyani vessels to collectorate in Kasarkode and tried to push past barricades . At Kottayam, demonstrators expressed their agitation by pelting stones and bottles on police. Women protestors too participated in the march held in Thrissur .
