New Delhi: The Central Environmental Ministry published the lists of banned products from single-use plastic products. As per the report, the manufacture, import, storage, distribution, sale and use of the plastic products will be banned after 30th, this month.
Plastic sticks on ear buds and balloons, plastic flags, Candy covers, Ice-cream covers, plastic papers, cups, glasses, cutleries are all included in the lists. Forks, spoons, knives, trays, invitation cards, cigarette packets and plastic or PVC banners below 100 microns will also be banned.
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has already issued directions to the national, state and local levels to stop the use and distribution of such items. It also had given instructions to the companies to stop the production and distribution of the one – time use plastics.
Meanwhile, the industry associations have requested gradual elimination of plastic straws in small pack juices, fizzy drinks and dairy products due to the rising costs of the alternate items like paper straws.
