New Delhi: Fugitive industrialist Vijay Mallya gets four months imprisonment and a fine of 2000 rupees in court contempt case. The Supreme Court’s verdict mentions that if the accused does not deposit the amount within a month, he will have to be in jail for two more months.
The SC ordered Mallya to deposit the amount of 40 million dollars to related banks with interest and if fails, his property will be attached.
The apex court has observed that Vijay Mallya has no remorse. The Supreme Court declared the verdict in connection with the case of transferring USD 40 million to his children in violation of court orders.
The verdict was produced by Justice U U Lalit. Justice Ravindra Bhat and Justice P S Sinha.
