New Delhi: The Central Government has declared that Covid precaution dose will be free of cost from July 15 onwards, under a 75 day long special drive. The third dose of Covid vaccine will be free for 75 days from 15 July.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur has informed that vaccination will be free at public health centres. Ongoing paid vaccinations in private clinics will continue as usual, added the minister.
ANI quoted Anurag Thakur’s statement, as “India is celebrating 75 years of independence. On the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, it has been decided that from 15th July, 2022, till the next 75 days, citizens above 18 years of age will be given booster doses free of cost.”
The Central Government reduced the gap between two vaccinations from 9 months to 6months earlier this month. Booster dose vaccination was free of cost for citizens above 60 years, health workers and covid frontline warriors. Now, the vaccine is free for all above 18 years.
The number of Covid infected patients are increasing again. At present, more than 1,25,000 people are under treatment.
