Colombo: An all-party meeting has called today by the central government to discuss the Sri Lankan issue. The meeting will be held under the leadership of union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and external affairs minister S. Jaishankar.
The AIADMK and DMK had already requested India to intervene the issue.
It is informed that the board will also discuss and take decisions on issues including the flow of refugees along with the discussion on the ongoing scenario.
Meanwhile union minister S. Jaishankar had clarified that India has commitment towards Sri Lankan citizens and are continuously evaluating their issues and developments.
It has been 100 days since the protests started in Sri Lanka and the situations still goes on. The citizens are demanding immediate solution for the food and fuel scarcity.
Presidential elections are going to be held in Sri Lanka on Wednesday. As part of this, security has been beefed up in government buildings. people are continuing their protest on demand of the resignation of Ranil Wickremesinghe
