New Delhi: 68th national film awards were declared at 4 pm today at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. Sachidanandan K R (Sachi) got the best director award for the movie ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ posthumously. Best actor award is shared with Ajay Devgn ( Tanhaji) and Suriya (Soorarai Pottru).
Soorarai Pottru is the best feature film. Aparna Balamurali has won the best actress award for the movie Soorarai Potrtu and Biju Menon is honored with the best supporting actor award. Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli is the best supporting actress.
Nanchiyamma is the best female playback singer. ‘Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam’ is the best Malayalam film. ‘Vaank’, directed by Kavya Prakash, received Jury’s special mention.
And in non feature film section, Nikhil S Praveen bagged best cinematography award for ‘Shabdikkunna Kalappa’. Best educational movie is ‘Dreaming of words’ by Nandan.
Best stunt choreography award is for Mafia Sasi ,the movie’ Ayyappanaum Koshiyum’.
Best music director is G V Prakash (Soorarai Pottru). Best book on cinema (special mention) is for Anoop Ramakrishnan (M T Anubhavangalude Kadha).
Madhya Pradesh is selected as the most film friendly state. Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh got jury’s special mention.
