Bogota: India’s Rupal Chaudhary has won the third position in the ongoing 2022 World Athletics Championships. She attained medal in the women’s 400m running race.
At the World Under-20 Athletics Championships in Colombia, Rupal won the third position in the 400 meters in 51.85 seconds.
In the 400 metre race, Britain’s Mary John won gold and Damaris Mutunga of Kenya won silver.
Earlier, India had won silver in the 4 x 400 metre mixed relay. The Indian players achieved this by breaking the Asian record.
Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Kiran Rijiju, Prahlad Joshi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated Rupal Chaudhary on her achievement.
Currently, US is in the top most position of under 20 world athletics championship with 5 gold, 2 silver ad 3 bronze. Keniya is in the second position and South Africa is third in the list.
India is at the 17th position
