NewDelhi: The manufacturer, Biological- E Ltd informed that Corbevax has been approved for use as a Corona booster dose vaccine. It will be available at public and private vaccination centers from today.
The Union Health Ministry gave permission to use Corbevax as booster dose for those who have received 2 doses of Covaxine and Covishield. A booster dose can be taken 6 months after two doses of vaccine.
Corbevax is the first Indian vaccine which was approved as heterologous corona booster dose. It costs Rs 400 at private vaccination centres. It’s the first time that a booster dose, which is different from primary dose, has been supplied. Corbevax is currently administered to children aged 12 to 14 years.
