Srinagar: K T Jaleel, former minister and CPM leader has made a new contraversial statement through his Facebook post, in which he said, Pak occupied Kashmir was known as Azad Kashmir.
India’s official position is Kashmir is a part of India and the land separated from India is Pak occupied Kashmir. But in a shocking fb post, K T Jaleel calls,” part of Kashmir annexed to Pakistan was known as Azad Kahmir”.
K T Jaleel, while in his trip to Amiritsar to participate in a meeting of Malayali associations, had also visited Kashmir. Jaleel explained about his trip in his Facebook and mentioned ‘ Azad Kashmir’ and ‘Indian occupied Kashmir’. The former minister, through his post, has indirectly criticised the Central Government and tried to glorify Pakistan.
“Soldiers with guns everywhere in Kashmir. For last few decades, the colour of Kashmir has turned into army green.Kashmiri people are not happy. People of Kashmir have forgotten to laugh. Political leaders are under home detention”. And about the abrogation of Article 370, Jaleel says, Kashmiri people are still in anger, and the Central Government should work to change this”.
During the time of partition, the part annexed to Pakistan was known as ‘Azad Kashmir’. The unified army became the general army of Azad Kashmir during Ziaul Haq’s presidency. KT Jaleel’s Facebook post further read.
K T Jaleel’s view is that Jammu, Kashmir valley and Ladakh are Indian occupied Kashmir. The M L A added i his fb post, that weapons can never control the minds of people.
It is relevant that Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case, had revealed that K T Jaleel was involved in anti-national activities related to the concerned case .
