Kannur: A huge gold hunt at Kannur airport where 1531 grams of gold was seized from the passengers during the inspection conducted by the Customs. Police arrested two Kasargod natives in the incident. It is reported that the gold seized from them is worth around 72 lakh rupees in the market.
Ibrahim Khalil, native of Cherkala and Abdul Basith native of Hosdurg were arrested. Customs and DRI jointly conducted the inspection.
Last week too, gold worth Rs 15 lakh was seized from Kannur airport. It was concealed in a life jacket, kept under the seat of GoFast flight from Abu Dhabi.
